Imagine there was a tennis mini game with simple controls, but tense gameplay, that works inside the Gameboy's limitations, but dances on their very edge to reach the absolute maximum of effects and graphics, made in an untypical, yet charming art style by a professional pixel artist with experience in GB Studio and has you play as a cute cat as topping of the cake.

Or actually, stop dreaming and play the game right now, for ever for free, right here inside your browser tab!

Controls:
Move with WASD or arrow keys
Interact (A-key): Space, Enter, Q, E, Y, X, Y, Z

This game uses sound effects that can be turned off on your browser window and no music, sparing me work and making you able to listen to music while playing.

In the download files you'll find a ZIP folder called groundstroke_1.0_rom . It's the Gameboy ROM that can be used to play this game on original hardware!

There is a hidden screen with some developer commentary for anyone interested.

Thanks for putting in the developer commentary. Was quite fascinating.

The pause and then screen shake when knocking the flash-bangs back is some seriously great feedback.

And the art style really mirrors the anarchic spirit of the scenario, all while maintaining a great amount of readability.

Really well done, I think this is an exceptionally well crafted mini-game!

Thank you!! I'm really glad you found the commentary and that you like my design choices!
